Throughout the 2026–2027 season, dancers will have opportunities to learn and develop their skills, participate in cultural and community events, and prepare for future performances. We’re excited to continue expanding what Disha offers while creating even more opportunities for our dancers and families to come together.

The Golden Legacy Performance 5/30/2026
On May 30, 2026, Disha Performing Arts proudly presented The Golden Legacy, an unforgettable evening celebrating Circassian culture, heritage, and the generations who have worked to preserve it in California. hrough traditional dance, music, storytelling, and authentic cultural expression, the performance brought our community together to honor the traditions that connect us to our past while sharing them with a new generation.
The Golden Legacy was more than a performance—it was a tribute to the people who helped build and sustain the Circassian community in California. Each dance and narration told part of that story, highlighting the beauty, strength, and diversity of Circassian traditions. Our dancers brought these stories to life on stage with passion and dedication, creating an experience that could be shared not only with the Circassian community, but also with friends, neighbors, and audiences discovering our culture for the first time. The success of The Golden Legacy represented an important milestone for Disha Performing Arts and our mission to preserve culture through the performing arts.
We are incredibly grateful to our dancers, families, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and everyone who joined us on May 30. Their support allows us to continue investing in authentic costumes, cultural education, and future performances so that these traditions remain vibrant, visible, and meaningful for generations to come.

Based in Southern California, USA, we serve as a vital hub for Circassians and cultural enthusiasts, offering a space where the beauty and significance of Circassian heritage are shared with a wider audience. Our ensemble focuses on engaging younger generations in learning the traditional dances and music passed down through the centuries, ensuring these timeless expressions of Circassian identity continue to thrive.
Through performances, workshops, and community events, Disha Performing Arts showcases the elegance, grace, and complexity of Circassian dance, music, and folklore. By blending ancient traditions with modern storytelling, our ensemble not only entertains but also educates audiences about the historical struggles and triumphs of the Circassian people. We are committed to fostering a deeper appreciation for this rich culture while empowering youth to connect with their roots and proudly carry forward their cultural legacy.
Who Are Circassians
located between the Black and Caspian Seas. With a rich cultural history spanning thousands of years, they are known for their distinct native language, traditional music and dance, and a deeply rooted moral code and set of principles known as Adyghe Xabze.
Historically, the Circassians organized into various regional tribes and are renowned for their strong warrior culture, which enabled them to resist numerous empires over the centuries, including the Ottoman and Russian Empires.
Despite being displaced during the Russian-Circassian War during the 19th century, the Circassians have preserved their heritage, customs, and language across generations. Today, thriving Circassian communities can be found around the world, including in Turkey, Jordan, Syria, and the United States, where they continue to honor and celebrate their cultural identity. Through vibrant dance, music, and storytelling, Circassians maintain a deep connection to their ancestral homeland, passing down their traditions to new generations.
